The Offshore Financial Trade Association

The Association network aims to boost the productivity and profitability of the UK.  They are doing this by identifying and tackling skills gaps and shortages on a sector by sector basis.  In short, they are trying to get the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time.

The association network is made up of many sub committees, each one is an employer-led, independent organisation. The trade association underpins the network and is responsible for funding, supporting and monitoring the SSCs.

The association can assist you in your decision making process to resolve your overload of critical Business issues and problems. They achieve this by using their extensive network of business contacts that we have established with different skill sets over the years. By working closely with you and understanding your needs we are able to use our network and experience to bring you the right answers in a comprehensive, rapid and very discrete manner.

The London office was initially run as a joint venture with the International Development Trade body. Four projects were planned in the first six months, one of which had to be postponed and modified. They are worth describing as they point to the future. They were:

  • a comparison of public trade enquiries in Britain and France
  • a study of the effects of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) on wetland drainage in France, Britain, Netherlands and Ireland
  • a critique of a European freight forecasting study, and
  • business outsourcing
  • an extended essay on the impact of EEC environmental legislation in the UK

The current director took over the running of the London office in 2010. In 2011 the Brussels office was opened to be close to the EU power structures and have a clear presence in continental Europe.
